Jakarta: Stunting remains a significant challenge in Indonesia, affecting millions of children due to inadequate nutrition. In Indonesia, nearly one in five children in Indonesia are at risk of stunting due to chronic malnutrition.
One of the key interventions to combat this is ensuring that children consume protein-rich foods, such as eggs, which play a crucial role in height and weight development.
Studies have shown that consuming at least one egg per day, alongside proper parental education and behavioral improvements in providing nutrition, is essential for optimal child growth.

And The ZeroStunting Edu Farmers International Foundation, in collaboration with AI technology provider KeyReply, has launched ZeroStunting—an innovative public-private initiative that harnesses artificial intelligence to transform public health interventions and empower parents to improve their children’s nutrition.
Through the ZeroStunting project, parents can now report their children's egg consumption and overall nutritional intake using AI-powered technology developed by KeyReply.
Funded by Infoxchange, this project is part of a broader effort to scale innovative solutions that address child malnutrition across Indonesia.
The grant enables Edu Farmers to leverage advanced digital tools and data analytics, ensuring that the intervention is both impactful and sustainable.
By integrating cutting-edge AI technology, ZeroStunting not only enhances nutritional tracking but also paves the way for future initiatives in public health and digital transformation.

The ZeroStunting project integrates KeyReply’s AI-driven system, providing a seamless and user-friendly interface for parents to log their children's daily meals.
By simply reporting whether their child has consumed eggs, parents contribute to a real-time database that helps stakeholders monitor nutritional trends and intervene where necessary.
“Our ZeroStunting platform harnesses AI-powered WhatsApp tools to automatically collect real-time data on daily egg consumption and child growth," said Dr. Lukmanul Hafiz, Head of Stunting Program & Operations at Edu Farmers Foundation.
"This immediate feedback loop enables us to pinpoint nutritional gaps and deploy targeted interventions swiftly ensuring that every child at risk receives the critical support they need,” he added.

The AI system identifies trends in egg consumption and nutritional intake, alerting stakeholders when intervention is needed.
Additionally, the AI seamlessly integrates with platforms like WhatsApp, ensuring easy access for parents to report and receive guidance on their child’s nutrition.
Since 2022, the ZeroStunting initiative has impacted nearly 2.000 children across 66 subdistricts and villages in Indonesia.

Current data indicates a 70-80% compliance rate among parents providing eggs to their children. Through AI-powered tracking and personalized engagement, the program aims to increase parental participation by an additional 10% to 15%, ensuring sustained nutritional benefits.
The collected data is analyzed to provide insights into dietary patterns and identify areas requiring immediate attention.
By leveraging AI, the project can assess trends, predict risks, and support government and non-profit organizations in implementing targeted nutritional programs.
Our solution enables Edufarmers to implement a more efficient and scalable approach to addressing malnutrition," said Peiru Teo, CEO of KeyReply.
"By leveraging Generative AI, Edufarmers is empowered to deliver personalized guidance and empathetic communication tailored to each parent's concerns.
During its pilot year, ZeroStunting found that a single 2-hour nutrition workshop resulted in at least 13% improvement in parental knowledge.
By leveraging multiple learning channels, the AI-driven platform is projected to enhance parental knowledge by 25% to 35% over time. Additionally, the program aims for a 30% increase in the adoption of recommended nutritional practices among participating families.
By onboarding 1.000 parents, the AI-powered system aims to ensure sustained nutritional improvements for children at risk of stunting.

The ZeroStunting program aims to reduce stunting rates by 20% for participating beneficiaries over each six-month program. Baseline data shows a 17% average reduction in stunting prevalence without digital intervention.
The One Day, One Egg program targets an additional 3% to 7% improvement, further enhancing the impact of the initiative.
In terms of parental education, the program provides nutrition reminders, workshops, and personalized support via KeyReply’s AI-powered WhatsApp assistant. Finally, data analysis is conducted using AI-driven insights for continuous improvement and impact assessment.
Supported by healthcare professionals, NGOs, and local government bodies, the Zero Stunting project exemplifies Indonesia’s commitment to eradicating child malnutrition.
This collaborative initiative—enhanced by grant funding from Infoxchange—also showcases the transformative potential of AI in driving public health solutions.

In February, our transformative "1 Day 1 Egg" program launched to revolutionize stunting prevention in Indonesia by deploying our first MVP chatbot AI monitoring system integrated with WhatsApp.
This innovative solution not only facilitates real-time reporting of daily egg consumption and monthly child growth but also provides personalized nutritional guidance and health tips to parents and community health workers.
Powered by advanced natural language processing and designed to interact exclusively in Bahasa Indonesia, the system fosters warm, empathetic, and human-like conversations, gently reinforcing the importance of providing one egg each day for healthy child development while easing administrative burdens.
We named our chatbot SAKTI as a playful nod to our ZeroStunting initiative—combining the magic and might of the word "sakti" with the transformative impact of our program.
In Indonesian culture, "sakti" connotes both strength and enchantment, symbolizing how each egg is not only a nutritional supplement but also a catalyst for change in stunting prevention.
This name encapsulates our commitment to empowering parents and health workers with an innovative tool that transforms complex data into clear, actionable insights.
Looking ahead, we plan to further enhance Nutrition AI by refining our AI capabilities with comprehensive local datasets, integrating a dynamic knowledge hub, and scaling interactive features through strategic collaborations.
This roadmap will transform SAKTI from a simple reporting tool into a trusted, magical companion that not only tracks nutrition and growth but also empowers parents with actionable insights—contributing to improved child health outcomes and a brighter future for our communities.

The program operates through a structured approach
- 1. First is data collection, which involves identifying and validating stunted infants’ data.
- 2. Next is stakeholder engagement, where the programme partners with local communities and sources. Followed by distribution, with eggs being delivered to program locations.
- 3. The program also includes monitoring and evaluation, which tracks egg consumption, health status, height, and weight.
In terms of parental education, the program provides nutrition reminders, workshops, and personalized support via KeyReply’s AI-powered WhatsApp assistant. Finally, data analysis is conducted using AI-driven insights for continuous improvement and impact assessment.
