Dilansir dari Telegraph.co.uk, Selasa (13/11/2016), film La La Land yang dibintangi oleh Ryan Gosling dan Emma Stone mendominasi nominasi penghargaan tersebut. Dengan perolehan 7 nominasi, yakni dalam kategori Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, dan Best Actres, Best Screenplay, Best Original Song, dan Best Original Score.
Dalam nominasi Best Actress, Emma Stone nantinya akan bersaing dengan Annette Bening (20th Century Women), Lily Collins (Rules Don’t Apply), Hailee Steinfeld (The Edge of Seventeen), dan Meryl Streep (Florence Foster Jenkins). Sementara dalam nominasi Best Actor, Ryan Gosling akan bersaing dengan Colin Farrell (The Lobster), Hugh Grant (Florence Foster Jenkins), Jonah Hill (War Dogs), dan Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool).
