Menteri Siti: Perlu Ada Adaptasi Pola Pikir Lingkungan di Tingkat ASEAN

Pertemuan AMME tahun 2021 ini membahas perkembangan kerja sama bidang lingkungan hidup di ASEAN. Terdapat tujuh isu yang dibahas, yakni 

1. Konservasi alam dan keanekaragaman hayati; 
2. Lingkungan pesisir dan laut; 
3. Manajemen sumber daya air; 
4. Kota ramah lingkungan; 
5. Bahan kimia dan limbah; 
6. Pendidikan lingkungan serta isu konsumsi dan produksi berkelanjutan; dan 
7. Perubahan iklim.

Sepakati sejumlah hal

Berdasarkan hasil pertemuan, disepakati dua dokumen, yakni Nomination of Cities for the 5th ASEAN ESC Award and 4th Certificates of Recognition; dan ASEAN-China Joint Statement on Enhancing Green and Sustainable Development Cooperation.
 
Pertemuan ini membahas dan menotasi dokumen-dokumen sebagai berikut: 

1. ASEAN Joint Statement on Chemicals and Waste to 2021 Meetings of the Basel, Rotterdam, and Stockholm (BRS) Conventions; 
2. Draft ASEAN Joint Statement on Biological Diversity to the 15th session of the Conference of Parties to the Convention of Biological Diversity (CBD COP15); 
3. ASEAN Regional Action Plan on Combating Marine Debris; 
4. ASEAN State of Climate Change Report (ASCCR); dan
5. ASEAN Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP) Framework.

Pertemuan ini dihadiri oleh:

• Khin Maung Yi, Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation, Myanmar; 
• Datuk Mansyoer Bin Haji Otman, Deputy Minister of Environment and Water, Malaysia; 
• Albert Magalang, Chief of Climate Change Service, Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Philippines;

• Varawut Silpa-Archa, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, Thailand;

• Theresa Mundita Lim, Executive Director of ASEAN Centre for Biodiversity.
