Jakarta: Lagu "Right Where You Left Me" yang dinyanyikan oleh Taylor Swift merupakan salah satu dari dua lagu tambahan dalam versi deluxe album Evermore, bersama lagu "It’s Time to Go". Kedua lagu ini tidak masuk dalam rilisan awal album Evermore yang dirilis pada Desember 2020.
 
Video lirik resminya diunggah melalui kanal YouTube resmi Taylor Swift pada 7 Januari 2021. Lagu ini ditulis oleh Taylor Swift bersama Aaron Dessner dari band The National, yang juga bertindak sebagai produsernya.
 
Awalnya, Aaron Dessner membuat musik tersebut untuk proyek Big Red Machine. Namun, setelah Taylor Swift mendengarnya, ia langsung terinspirasi untuk menulis lirik dan akhirnya lagu tersebut berkembang menjadi "Right Where You Left Me".

Makna Lagu Right Where You Left Me

Secara garis besar, Right Where You Left Me bercerita tentang seseorang yang seolah berhenti di satu titik waktu setelah mengalami perpisahan yang sangat menyakitkan.

Taylor Swift menggambarkan situasi ketika hubungan berakhir di sebuah tempat umum, dan sejak saat itu hidup tokoh dalam lagu terasa seperti terhenti. Ia seakan terjebak dalam momen tersebut, sementara dunia di sekitarnya terus berjalan seperti biasa.
