Jakarta: The Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia (FPCI) today confirmed that its chairman, former deputy foreign minister Dino Patti Djalal, contracted covid-19.
"He experienced problems of the respiratory system in the past six days," the FPCI secretariat said in a written statement on Wednesday.
According to the FPCI secretariat, Dino was brought to the Gatot Soebroto Army Hospital in Central Jakarta on Tuesday. Due to deteroriating health condition, he was moved to ICU today.
"He was moved to ICU to receive intensive treatment," it stated.
On Wednesday afternoon, the National Covid-19 Task Force confirmed 3,963 new covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed covid-19 cases across Indonesia to 228,993.
Based on data from the Indonesian Ministry of Health, from Tuesday noon to Wednesday noon, the total number of confirmed covid-19 recoveries was up by 3,036 to 164,101. Meanwhile, in the past 24 hours, the total number of confirmed covid-19 deaths was up by 135 to 9,100.
