ASEAN, Dialogue Partners Discuss Post-Pandemic Recovery

Jakarta : On the fourth day of ASEAN Post Ministerial Conferences (PMC), ASEAN foreign ministers held meetings with their counterparts from from Canada and New Zealand.
 
Indonesian Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Mahendra Siregar represented Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the meeting.
 
Indonesian Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs sent his appreciation to Canada for their help in preparing medical equipment especially masks and data of covid-19 in the region.

"Indonesia hopes that ASEAN and Canada is able to recover their economic condition together," said Mahendra, as quoted by the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs' official website. 
 
He also underlined the importance of New Zealand as the bridge to the
Pacific region.
 
"New Zealand could be a bridge for ASEAN," he stated.
 
According to him, the enhancement of ASEAN-Australia-New Zealand Free Trade Area and the implementation of Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership are very important
 
The PMC will conclude with ASEAN-European Union meetings and dialogues pertaining to regional security on August 6. (Translator: Natasha Celia)
