Jakarta: Director of East Asia and Pacific at the Indonesian Foreign Affairs Minisyry Santo Darmosumarto has said that the Indonesian government still recoginzes One-China Policy.
"We always recognize One-China Policy," the Indonesian Foreign Affairs Ministry official told Medcom.id here on Tuesday.
Earlier this month, Taiwanese Foreign Minister Jaushieh Joseph Wu urged Indonesia and other countries to support Taiwan's participation in the United Nations (UN) conferences, mechanisms and activities.
According to the minister, Taiwan's extraordinary success in dealing with the covid-19 pandemic demonstrates that Taiwan's participation at the UN can contribute to the international community.
"Covid-19 pandemic has brought a global public health crisis and the international community needs to make more concerted efforts than ever before to build a better and more sustainable future," the minister said in a written statement on Monday.
According to him, the UN must be more inclusive and should not ignore any country including Taiwan and anyone else.
