Indonesia, Bulgaria Agree to Have Joint Economic Commission

Jakarta: Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi paid a courtesy call to Bulgarian Boyko Borrisov in Sofia, Bulgaria on Monday, September 16, 2019.
 
They discussed about bilateral relations between the two emerging economies. They also exchanged views on infrastructure development and digital infrastructure.
 
The Indonesian diplomat had a meeting with Bulgarian Economic Minister Emil Karanikolov on the same day. The ministers were accompanied by the representatives of Indonesian and Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce Association.

Minister Karanikolov said that Indonesia and Bulgaria have strong economic relationship. He also added that Indonesia is a stabilitator in its region.
 
"We agreed to have the Joint Economic Commission at the latest by early 2020," Minister Retno said on her official twitter account this afternoon.
 
Indonesia's trade balance recorded a surplus of USD85.1 million in August 2019. The country's export and import values stood at USD14.28 billion and USD14.20 billion respectively last month.
 
Last month, the country's non oil and gas sector recorded a trade surplus of USD840.2 million. In the meantime, the country's oil and gas sector recorded a trade deficit of USD755.1 million.
