Copenhagen: The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Copenhagen, in collaboration with the Confederation of Danish Industry, successfully hosted the Indonesia Investment Forum (IIF) Copenhagen 2024 on 27 June 2024.

This pivotal event aimed to foster investment in Indonesia's maritime sector, green sector, and circular economy, highlighting the country's dynamic investment landscape and showcasing its Investment Projects Ready to Offer (IPRO). The Forum not only emphasized opportunities but also addressed the challenges of doing business in Indonesia.

In his opening remarks, Juda Agung, Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia, emphasized Indonesia's favorable macroeconomic situation and invited Danish businesses to unlock
investment opportunities across diverse sectors, particularly in infrastructure, manufacturing and industry, digital economy, tourism, and sustainable development.

Meanwhile, Dewi Savitri Wahab, Ambassador of Indonesia to Denmark, expressed Indonesia's eagerness to collaborate with Danish companies, noting that Denmark hosts global superpower companies in sectors highly relevant to Indonesia’s development goals, such as maritime, green transition and renewable energy, digitalization, and healthcare. The expertise of Danish companies with their “Danish Solutions” in these areas aligns perfectly with Indonesia’s priorities, making them ideal partners.

In 2023, Danish investment in Indonesia reached USD 30.5 million, a significant increase from USD 12 million in 2022. This investment spanned multiple sectors, primarily focusing on renewable energy, logistics, and services.

According to KBRI Copenhagen on Saturday, The IIF Copenhagen 2024 featured around 12 distinguished speakers from both countries, including representatives from Bank Indonesia, Authority of New Capital Nusantara, Ministry of Investment of Indonesia, Grand Batang City Industrial Estates, Provincial Government of East Kalimantan, City of Balikpapan, and PT. Jakarta Propertindo.

Danish speakers included representatives from the Danish Energy Agency, Danish Industry, Danish Maritime, Denmark's Export and Investment Fund (EIFO), Siemens Energy, and APM Terminals-Maersk Indonesia.

The event was attended by approximately 70 participants, representing prominent Danish businesses such as TOPSOE, LEGO, Maersk, COWI, Grundfos, MAN Solutions, and many
others. IIF 2024 also provided a vital platform to promote selected IPRO projects across various key sectors, including renewable energy, infrastructure, industrial estates, and waste management.

IIF Copenhagen 2024 received support from various organizations, including the Confederation of Danish Industry, Bank Indonesia, Ministry of Investment (IIPC London), Authority of New Capital Nusantara, Batang Industrial Estates, Pupuk Indonesia, ASDP Ferry Indonesia, Bank Mandiri, and the Provincial Government of East Kalimantan.

IIF 2024 also marked the beginning of a series of "Festival Indonesia" events, featuring cultural arts performances and exhibitions of SME products during the "Indonesian Festival" on 29 June 2024. Additionally, the Indonesian Coffee Promotion took place during the World of Coffee event at Bella Center, Copenhagen, from 27-29 June 2024. These events aim to further promote cooperation between Indonesia and Denmark, who will celebrate their 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2025.
