Indonesia, Cambodia Agree to Enhance Health Cooperation

Phnom Penh: Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the Kingdom of Cambodia, Sudirman Haseng, has conducted a bilateral meeting with the Minister of Health of the Kindom of Cambodia, Prof. Mam Bunheng, at the Ministry of Health on Monday.
 
The main focus of the meeting was to enhance cooperation in the field of health.
 
"Cambodia is a country with a very big heart by providing vaccination for the Embassy and also planned vaccine for foreign citizens living in Cambodia, including Indonesians," said Ambassador Haseng in a press release on Monday.

"We convey our gratitude to the Royal Government of Cambodia, especially to the medical staff and health workers who are giving their tirelessly effort to fight in the pandemic in the frontline, including the treatment and care towards Indonesian citizens who were infected," he stated.
 
On the same occasion, Ambassador Haseng also introduced and handed Indonesian pharmaceutical and packaged food products as a form of the Embassy's solidarity, care, and appreciation towards the Government of Cambodia. The pharmaceutical products are supplements to boost the immune and also cold and cough medicines. Meanwhile, the packaged food products are instant noodles and also biscuits.
 
Cooperation in the field of health is one of the main focus of the bilateral meeting between the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), with the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Samdech Hun Sen, in the sideline of ASEAN Leader's Meeting conducted in Jakarta on Saturday. 
 
During the meeting, other than reiterating the importance of multilateral vaccine, the Indonesian President also invites Cambodia to strengthen the cooperation in the field of pharmacy, medicines, and medical devices.
 
Although the Government of Cambodia have applied strict health protocol, up till now the country is still affected by the Covid-19 Pandemic.
