King Willem-Alexander, Queen Maxima Visits Kalibata Heroes Cemetery

Jakarta: Dutch King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima visited the Kalibata Heroes Cemetery in South Jakarta on Tuesday afternoon, March 10, 2020.
 
The King and Queen and their entourage arrived at the location at around 09.15 a.m. local time. They laid a wreath in front of a Garuda Pancasila monument at the cemetery.
 
This will be followed by an official welcome ceremony at the presidential palace in Bogor where President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo and his wife Iriana will receive the King and Queen. This audience will be followed by a meeting of the Indonesian and Dutch delegations.

In the afternoon, the King and Queen will lay a wreath at Menteng Pulo Cemetery, the resting place of almost 4,300 Dutch soldiers who died during the Second World War and the Indonesian War of Independence. 
 
In the evening, the King and Queen will meet the members of the trade mission and will be present at the signing of various partnership agreements between Indonesian and Dutch businesses. 
 
The first day of their state visit will end with a reception for the Dutch community.
 
Besides Jakarta, the Dutch royals are also scheduled to visit Yogyakarta, Kalimantan and Sumatra during their four-day state visit to Indonesia. (Flory Ambarita)
