Jakarta: Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi stated President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo's visit to Busan, South Korea resulted in investment coming into Indonesia.
"One of them is from Hyundai Motor which is valued at more than USD 1.5 billion (Rp21 trillion)," Retno said at JS Luwansa Hotel, South Jakarta on Wednesday, November 27, 2019.
Retno added that Indonesia and South Korea agreed to sign a comprehensive economic partnership agreement (CEPA). She explained that The agreement would facilitate Indonesian trade amid tight regulations.
"The two Presidents agreed to sign the CEPA in early 2020," Retno explained.
Retno continued that the Heads of State paid attention to Indonesian workers in South Korea. President Jokowi entrusted President Moon Jae-in to provide maximum protection for Indonesian citizens.
President Jokowi attended the ASEAN-Republic of Korea (RoK) Commemorative Summit in Busan, South Korea. Jokowi was one of the keynote speakers at the summit.
During that occasion, Jokowi also visited the Hyundai factory and met young Indonesian scientists and researchers in South Korea.
