Jakarta: United States (US) President Joe Biden has sent his warmest wishes to Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and Indonesian people as the country celebrates 76 years of its independence on August 17.
According to Biden, the US greatly values Indonesia’s democratic leadership in the Indo?Pacific.
Moreover, the close strategic partnership between the two countries is more important now than ever.
"We look forward to working together to deepen our economic and people-to-people ties, fight the COVID-19 pandemic and drive green recovery," he said in a statement on Monday.
The US, Biden said, is also committed to promoting peace and stability throughout the Indo-Pacific region and beyond.
"The United States celebrates this Indonesian Independence Day with you as friends and partners," he concluded.
