Indonesia Strengthens Diplomatic Ties with Greece, Dominican Republic

Jakarta: Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi held a series of bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the 74th UN General Assembly (UNGA) in New York on Monday, September 23, 2019.
 
The Indonesian top diplomat and Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias discussed bilateral relations between the two coutries. They also talked about the ongoing negotiations of the Indonesia-EU Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IEU CEPA).
 
"I just signed memorandums of understanding (MoUs) on bilateral consultation and economic cooperation with Greece. It is the right moment to strengthen bilateral relationship," Minister Retno told reporters after the meeting.

Dominican foreign minister Miguel Octavio Vargas Maldonado lauded Indonesia's successful facilitation of Resolution 2489 agreement on the UN Mission in Afghanistan. He also appreciated growing economic relations between the two countries.
 
The first Indonesia-Latin America and Caribbean Business Forum will take place in Jakarta in mid-October. It will be held on the sidelines of Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) 2019.
 
"We also signed a memorandum of understanding on political consultation. A delegation of Dominican businesspersons is planning to visit Indonesia this week," Minister Retno remarked.
