Jakarta: US President Donald Trump congratulated Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and the people of Indonesia on Indonesia’s 75th anniversary of independence on August 17.
According to President Trump, the strategic partnership between the US and Indonesia is rooted in common values, deep people-to-people connections, and dynamic trade and investment ties.
"As democratic nations, We share a commitment to advance global peace and prosperity," President Trump said in a statement on Monday.
By working together to advance mutual interests based on shared democratic values, President Trump is confident that the US and Indonesia can achieve a truly free and open Indo-Pacific region.
"During these challenging times, our joint efforts to mitigate the impacts of covid-19 will only deepen our partnership," President Trump stated.
"Congratulations to you and all Indonesians on your national day and best wishes for success as you celebrate this special anniversary," President Trump stated.
