Zulu Dance Welcoming President Jokowi’s Arrival in South Africa

Johannesburg: President Joko Widodo Arrives in Johannesburg, South Africa after trip from the Republic of Mozambique on Wednesday 23 August 2023. The Garuda Indonesia aircraft (GIA-1) carrying President Jokowi and his entourage arrived at O.R. Tambo, Johannesburg, Republic of South Africa at around 17.00 local time.
 
President Jokowi was greeted directly by the Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment of South Africa Barbara Creecy, Senior Manager of the South African Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) Sindiswa Mququ, and Indonesian Ambassador to the Republic of South Africa Saud Purwanto Krisnawan along with wife.
 
Stated from Setkab.go.id, at the airport, President Jokowi was also greeted with the Zulu Dance, which is a welcoming dance from South Africa.

From O.R. International Airport Tambo, President Jokowi and the group directly to the hotel where they spent the night in Johannesburg. At the hotel, President Jokowi was welcomed by the Indonesian Consul General in Cape Town Tudiono as well as a number of Indonesian people in South Africa.
 
Previously, President Jokowi and his entourage took off from Maputo International Airport, Mozambique at around 16.00 local time.
 
Accompanying President Jokowi on the flight to Johannesburg were Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno LP Marsudi, and Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung.

BRICS summit

BRICS, on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 agreed to expand the block. this decision was the result of a leaders summit in Johannesburg.
 
South African Minister of Foreign Affairs, Naledi Pandor said, all developing countries also agreed on accession guidelines for new members in the future.
 
"We have agreed on the expansion," Pandor told Radio Ubuntu, a station run by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
 
Positive, Pandor revealed that BRICS had prepared regulations to carry out its expansion plans.
 
"We have a document that was adopted and set guidelines and principles, a process for considering countries that wish to become BRICS members," said Pandor, quoted from Laprensalatina, Thursday, August 24, 2023
 
Pandor explained that the BRICS leadership would soon finalize details before the summit ended on Thursday, August 24, 2023. He also said that as many as 23 countries had expressed interest in joining the bloc.
