Jakarta: The Indonesian government appreciated the commitment of the Dutch government in developing the skills of small-scale oil palm farmers.

This was stated in the cooperation between the two countries that was signed in New York on September 26, 2019.

"Capacity building of small-scale farmers to produce sustainable palm oil," Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said at the Bogor Palace, Bogot West Java, Monday, October 7, 2019.

This was conveyed by Jokowi when receiving Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte. In front of Rutte, Jokowi stressed his commitment to EU's policy on environmentally friendly palm oil management.

In addition to cooperation related to palm oil, Jokowi also mentioned cooperation in the investment sector. The former Jakarta Governor hopes Dutch investors could increase their investment in the fields of infrastructure, maritime development and water management.

Furthermore, Jokowi said his second term would focus on developing Human Resources. So investment in vocational education sector must be supported.

According to him, Rutte responded positively to this. "During the meeting, we also discussed efforts to increase cooperation in the field of vocational education," Jokowi said.
