Indonesians in Hong Kong Advised to Avoid Demonstrations

Jakarta: The Foreign Affaris Ministry has warned Indonesian citizens in Hong kong to avoid anti-government demonstrations.
“The Indonesian Consulate Generalin Hongkong (KJRI Hong Kong) has warned Indonesian citizens and expatriates to not participate in theese demonstrations," the ministry's acting spokesman Teuku Faizasyah told a press briefing here on Thursday, August 15, 2019.
"Those activities can affect their status as workers in Hong Kong," the official added.

Faizasyah also advised them to stay vigilant and act in accordance with the local law
and regulations. He said that the ministry and KJRI Hong Kong will continue to monitor the latest situation.
“We also have advised the Indonesian tourists in Hong kong to stay vigilant and use ‘Safe Travel’ mobile application,” he added.
Indonesia has issued travel warnings to Indonesian citizens who are either in
or about to fly to Hong Kong. The Ministry has also prepared plans to anticipate escalating security risks.
In an emergency situation, the Consulate General hotline can be contacted through its official
Whatsapp numbers, which are: +852 6894 2799, +852 6773 0466 and +852 5294 4184. It can
also be contacted through the emergency button in the ‘Safe Travel’ mobile application
belonging to the Ministry.
