medcom.id, Jakarta: The Indonesian Embassy in Cairo has confirmed that Egyptian authorities arrested two Indonesian students earlier this month.
The embassy has submitted a diplomatic note to the Egyptian government. However, it has not received any official response from the Egyptian government.
The embassy has held a meeting with local officials. Unfortunately, it has not received any information from the local officials.
"Embassy staff cannot meet the two Indonesian students," Indonesian Ambassador to Egypt Helmy Fauzi told Metrotvnews.com on Thursday.
The two students were arrested in Samanud on August 1. They were brought to Aga Police office not long after.
