medcom.id, Jakarta: President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) gave speech in the 5th Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Extraordinary Summit on Palestine and AL-Quds AL-Sharif. President Jokowi underlined Indonesia is ready to support Palestine until it receives its full independence.
President Jokowi stated Indonesia with other OIC member countries will help Palestine to gain its full sovereignty.
"It is an honor to be the host of OIC Extraordinary Summit. Welcome to Indonesia. The largest Muslim majority country," said President Jokowi in his speech, Jakarta, Monday (3/7/2016).
According to him, Indonesia and international community closely observe the situation in Palestine. the Israeli government continues to give hindrances to Palestinian people. Access to Al-Aqsa Mosque is also limited.
"We must unite. Palestine must unite through consensus. Indonesia is ready to help the process," he added.
"OIC is established to support palestinian independence. OIC must be part of the solution," he continued.
Jokowi said he wants to exchange views and experiences with other OIC leaders regarding Palestine. " Indonesia and Islamic world are ready to opposite Israel's atrocities in Al Quds and support Palestinian independence through two-state solution," he concluded.
Jokowi also underlined that the Israeli government to stop its illegal activities in Palestine.
