Indonesia Sends 140 Police Officers to Sudan

medcom.id, Jakarta: The National Police will send 140 personnel for a peacekeeping mission in Darfur, Sudan. 
 
The Formed Police Unit IX Garuda Bhayangkara 2017 will leave the country this week. The contingent will join the peacekeeping mission for one year.
 
"We can promote our country," said National Police chief General Tito Karnavian at the National Police headquarters in South Jakarta on Thursday, January 19, 2016.

The Formed Police Unit IX Garuda Bhayangkara 2017 will maintain security. The contingent will also protect civilians.
 
"We can show our capabilities," Tito continued.
