Military Operation the Last Option to Rescue Hostages in Philippines

medcom.id, Jakarta: The Indonesian government is still trying to rescue 10 Indonesian sailors who currently taken hostages by militants in the southern Philippines.
 
Coordinating Minister of Politics, Law and Security Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said the government considers military option as the last option. He admitted that the Philippine Constitution bans foreign military operation in the country.
 
"Military option is almost impossible. I think the possibility is only 0.5 percent," said Luhut at his office, on Wednesday (7/20/2016).

Moreover, Indonesian military doesn't fully understand the geographical and social condition in the region. 
 
Luhut underlined the government prioritizes the safety of the hostages. It cannot launched military operation that can jeopardize their safety.
