medcom.id, Jakarta: President Joko Widodo met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on the sidelines of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Extraordinary Summit. During the meeting, Abbas conveyed recent situation in his country.
"I met directly with President Abbas in the 5th OIC Extraordinary Summit. He thanked Indonesia's support to the summit and Palestine in general," said President Jokowi at Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Sunday (3/6/2016).
"He told me about situation regarding border, illegal settlement, Palestinian refugees and area occupied by Israel," Jokowi continued.
President underlined that Indonesia will continue its support for Palestinian full independence. "Indonesia hopes the summit could produce concrete measures for next conferences," he added.
OIC Extraordinary summit is attended by 605 delegates from 57 countries. The event is specially held to discuss issue of Palestine and Al-Sharif Al- Quds.
