Govt Committed to Protect Indonesian Workers in Malaysia

medcom.id, Jakarta: The Indonesian Embassy in Malaysia is committed to provide consular services to protect Indonesian migrant workers.
 
The Malaysian immigration kicked off crackdown on illegal foreign workers this month. It detained illegal foreign workers without the necessary documents.
 
"We have requested consular access," Indonesian Vice Ambassador to Malaysia Andreano Erwin said.

The Malaysian government carried out legalisation program for illegal foreign workers from February-June 2017. It urged illegal foreign workers to obtain the necessary documents.
 
"We are still waiting for response," he said.
