"The comprehensive cultural and fashion event is held in New Zealand, with the purpose of presenting Indonesian traditional fabrics, such as Batik, Ikat and Songket," mentioned Indonesian Ambassador to New Zealand, Jose Tavares, in a written statement of the Indonesian Embassy in New Zealand, received by Metrotvnews.com, Saturday (3/5/2016).
"The fashion presented in this event is specially designed with reference from New Zealanders fashion style," continued Ambassador Tavares.
IFE presented the works of seven Indonesian designers: Yuku Moko, Nita Seno Adji, Handy Hartono, Sikie Purnomo, Defrico Audy, Rudy Chandra and Carla Setja Atmadja.
The event was held in Wharewaka Function Centre. It was attended by 200 invitations from local fashion industry including retailers, influential editors and bloggers in fashion, fashion school leaders, New Zealand officials, foreign ambassadors residing in Wellington, as well as the Friends of Indonesia.
New Zealand is a potential market for Indonesian creative economy products. New Zealand textile industry comprising of 2,000 businesses and 15,000 workers.
