medcom.id, Jakarta: Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi confirmed 10 Indonesian sailors held as hostages by Abu Sayyaf militant group in the southern Philippines are in good condition.
The Philippine military clashed with Abu Sayyaf rebels in Basilan Island last week. The incident killed 18 soldiers and five rebels.
"According to my latest communication with Philippine Minister of Foreign Affairs this afternoon. They are in good condition. They are not in Basilan Island,' said Retno, Jakarta, Monday (4/11/2016).
"Let's pray for the well being of the ten Indonesian sailors," she continued.
Retno added she has conveyed condolences for the deceased Philippine soldiers.
