Charles 001 Crew Tells Story of the Hijacking Incident

medcom.id, Jakarta: One survivor of last week's hijackings in the southern Philippine waters, Andi Wahyu, told his story about the incident.
 
Andi was one of the crew in Charles 001 tugboat. It was en route from the Philippines to Samarinda, East Kalimantan when the incident happened.
 
There were two hijackings by two different groups. According to him, the first group spoke Malay language. They kidnapped three crew.

"The hijackers suddenly appeared. They pointed their guns." he told reporters in Balikpapan, East Kalimntan, on Monday (6/27/2016).
 
Meanwhile, the second group spoke English. They kidnapped other four crew.
 
After the second hijacking, the remaining six crew tried to escape. "Luckily we can be free," he concluded.
 
Charles 001 tugboat and Robby 152 barge were hijacked on June 21. It is the third such incident in recent months.
