Gov't Confirms One Indonesan Hostage Escapes from Abu Sayyaf

medcom.id, Jakarta: An Indonesian hostage has escaped from Abu Sayyaf militant group in the southern Philippines.
 
The Foreign Ministry identified the hostage as Muhammad Sofyan. Abu Sayyaf kidnapped him and six other Indonesian sailors in the Sulu Sea on June 23.
 
Foreign Ministry's director of protection of Indonesian  citizens and legal entities Lalu Muhamad Iqbal said Muhammad Ihsan currently is with local authorities in Zamboanga, Sulu, the Philippines.

"Our team are on their way to Zamboanga," he told Metrotvnews.com, here, Wednesday (8/17/2016).
 
Ten Indonesian sailors are still taken hostage by Abu Sayyaf in the southern Philippines.
