Indonesian Culture Loved by Italians: Mattarella

medcom.id, Jakarta: Italian President Sergio Mattarella visited Indonesia for the first time on November 8, 2015. It is the initial visit of the Italian leader since the start of the bilateral relationship in 1949.
 
In his speech on the 'First Bilateral Dialogue Between Indonesia and Italy', President Mattarella explained the closeness of Indonesia and Italy.  
 
"Italy and Indonesia has a very close relationship, not only in governance, but also cultural. As the Milan Expo was conducted, Indonesia had lots of attention from its traditional and historical side," said President Mattarella in Kempinski Grand Ballroom, Jakarta, Tuesday (10/11/2015).

"Aside from that, Italy was also impressed with Indonesia as a democratic country, as well as a nation with the largest Muslim population in the world," he continued.
 
Milan Expo has a positive effect on Indonesia in Italy. Indonesia may convey historical reflection received and liked by Italian people. Milan Expo has also made Italians to like the massively expanding Indonesian culture.
 
President Joko Widodo mentioned President  Mattarella has brought a business delegation as many as 30 people and produced the total contract of more than US$1.055 billion.
 
"President Mattarella and I have just discussed the efforts of increasing bilateral relations, especially in the economic sector. I am pleased that in this visit, there was a business delegation of 30 people," mentioned the President during a joint press statement in Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Monday evening. 
 
Jokowi revealed the contract is a new cooperation, especially in the energy logistic and infrastructure sectors, as well as the expansions on automotive sector. (Nabila Gita)
