medcom.id, Jakarta: Indonesia has again urged all parties to exercise restraint after Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) announced its ruling on China's claims in the South China Sea.

"All parties should protect Southeast Asia from military activities that could threaten stability and peace," wrote the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in its official website, Tuesday (7/12/2017).

"As well as respect international law especially UNCLOS 1982," the statement continued.

Indonesia also urged all claimant states in the South China Sea to continue peaceful negotiations according to the international law.

PCA decided that China's nine dash line in the South China Sea does not has any legal basis.  The Philippines, which filed the case to the international tribunal in 2013, welcomed the ruling. In the other hand, China called the decision as illegal.
