Southern Philippines Is Complicated Issue: VP Kalla

medcom.id, Jakarta: Indonesian Vice President Jusuf Kalla believes Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte can bring peace in southern Philippines.
 
"There are two main difficulties regarding southern Philippines," Kalla said on Monday.
 
First, southern Philippines is home to a number of rebel groups. It is also home to a lot of extremist factions.

Secondly, southern Philippines has chronic gun problems. It also has bad socioeconomic conditions.
 
"President Duterte is quite strict," the Golkar Party figure said.
 
"The most important thing is consistency," the Buginese businessman added.
