medcom.id, Jakarta: Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Arrmanatha Nasir denied accusation that the Indonesian government violated secret deal with Israel regarding access for Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi to enter Palestine.

"There was no meeting between Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Israel prior to Minister Retno Marsudi's visit," ensured Arrmanatha at a press briefing, Jakarta, Thursday (3/17/2016).

"I reaffirmed, there was no discussion or deal regarding the visit," he added.

Arrmanatha explained the visit has been planned since December 2015. Minister Retno initially planned to go to Ramallah using Jordan's military helicopter.

"Indonesia will not respond remark from Israel because in reality there was no meeting," he continued.

Previously, the Israeli government claimed the access was rejected because Minister Retno violated secret deal to meet with Israeli official in Jerusalem. The deal was made during secret meeting in Jakarta few days before the visit.

Minister Retno wanted to enter Palestine last week to inaugurate Indonesia's honorary consul in Ramallah, Maha Abou Shushes. The inauguration ceremony then was moved to Amman, Jordan.
