medcom.id, Jakarta: President Joko Widodo said he spoke about Mary Jane Fiesta Veloso with Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte during his recent visit here.
Jokowi said Duterte gave permission to Indonesia to execute the Philippine drug convict.
"I mentioned about Mary Jane. I explained Mary Jane smuggled 2.6 kilograms of heroin," he said as quoted by the Cabinet Secretary's website on Monday (9/12/2016).
"At that time, President Duterte gave permission for execution," he added.
The Indonesian government postponed Mary Jane's execution last year due to legal process in the Philippines.
