medcom.id, Jakarta: Indonesia continues to observe recent situation in the South China Sea where China and several ASEAN countries compete for territorial sovereignty.
"We are very aware. South China is one of the important discussions in ASEAN meeting," said Minister of Foreign Affairs at her office, Jakarta, Monday (2/29/2016).
Indonesia always push for the implementation of Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea (DoC) and the completion of Code of Conduct (CoC).
"We are preparing CoC. Because we are near with the South China Sea. We must ensure the region is stable," she added.
Proposal from ASEAN has been submitted to China and other claimant countries. Retno previously attended ASEAN Foreign Ministers Meeting Retreat in Vientiane, Laos last week. South China Sea is one of the issues in the meeting.
