medcom.id, Jakarta: The leaked files of large offshore law firm, dubbed the Panama Papers, mentions several Indonesian businessmen and companies.
There are 2,961 Indonesian names who are listed as clients of Panamanian law firm Mossack Fonseca which is at the center of the leak.
It also reveals 43 offshore entities related to Indonesia and more than 2,400 Indonesian addresses.
The leaked data includes 215 thousand entities and 14,153 clients from various countries.
The 2.6 terabyte of data was acquired by German newspaper Siuddeutsche Zeitung from an anonymous source. The leaked documents than spread by Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ).
It covers nearly 40 years including activities conducted by 72 former and active world readers.
ICIJ in its website stated the leak exposes misconducts in offshore industry even though it underlined that persons or companies included in the data may not broken the law.
