medcom.id, Brasilia: Indonesian Ambassador to Brazil, Toto Riyanto, presented the letter of credence for Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff.

The ceremony was conducted at the presidential palace, Wednesday (11/4/2015), at around 11.15 morning Brasilia time. Ambassador Toto Riyanto presented the letter of credence along with other ambassadors to Brazil from 21 other countries and representatives.

Previously, Ambassador Toto was rejected by President Rousseff, following the death execution of a Brazilian named Rodrigo Muxfeldt Gularte. Gularte was executed for the drug distribution case in Nusakambangan, Central Java, on April 29.

President Rousseff rejected Ambassador Toto as a form of protest, but several months later, the president soften and promised to accept Ambassador Rousseff in Brazil.

The confirmation was delivered by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Retno Marsudi, as she had discussed the rejection issue with Brazilian FM Mauro Vieira.

"We know there's a problem in the bilateral relationship. Both FMs agree to try in resolving the existing problems," mentioned Minister Retno in the sidelines of the agenda in the UN General Assembly in New York, USA, in September 29.
