medcom.id, Jakarta: Malaysian Ambassador to Indonesia, Datuk Seri Zahrain Mohamed Hashim stated Malaysia talked about his government's effort to free four Malaysian sailors who are being held hostage by Abu Sayyaf militant group takers.

"We will not bow to hostage takers. We will use any means necessary to save our sailors," said Ambassador Zahrain at the Malaysian Embassy, Jakarta, Tuesday (4/12/2016).

He added that the Malaysian government refused to pay ransom. "I believe Indonesia also wishes for the safe return of Malaysian crews. Currently, we are expecting the same for Indonesians hostages," he continued.

He also addressed that the issue of Abu Sayyaf is not an easy or small matter. "There should be cooperation from the countries whose citizens have become victims," he added.

Ambassador Zahrain also said the issue most likely to be brought up in the ASEAN Summit in May 2016.
