Foreign Ministry Sends Task Force to Philippines

medcom.id, Jakarta: The government is committed to rescue seven Indonesian crew held hostage by hijackers in the southern Philippines.
 
"Minister of Defense Ryamizard Ryacudu has met his Philippine counterpart on June 26," she told reporters in Jakarta, on Tuesday (6/28/2016).
 
According to her, the two defense ministers discussed about security in Sulu Sea especially the kidnapping of seven Indonesian sailors.

She added that her ministry has deployed diplomats to Davao, Philippines to establish contacts with local figures.
 
The Philippines will have new government on June 30. Retno said that she will meet with new Philippine foreign minister immediately.
 
"After June 30, I will meet with new Philippine foreign minister to discuss about our sailors," she concluded.
 
Seven Indonesian sailors were kidnapped by two different groups last week when their boat was en route from Mindanao to East Kalimantan.
