medcom.id, Jakarta: The Indonesian government urged restrainst as North Korea conducted test of a submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM).
Indonesia stated that the test violated international norms. It also raised the tension in the region.
"The test violated Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty (CTBT) and United Nations Security Council Resolution 1718, 1874 and 2087," stated the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a written statement received by Metrotvnews.com, Tuesday (4/26/2016).
"Indonesia urges North Korea to avoid provocative actions that could influence stability in the region," the statement continued.
The Indonesian government also asked all related parties continue Six Party Talks to maintain peace and stability in the Korean peninsula.
After it succeeded in launching an SLBM, North Korea plans to launch Musudan missile which could reach South Korea, Japan and the United States base in Guam.
