medcom.id, Jakarta: The 5th Extraordinary Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Palestine and Al-Quds Al-Sharif in Jakarta has ended. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas invited President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to Jerusalem.
Abbas mentioned Al-Quds Al-Sharif, Arabic name for Jerusalem, cannot be separated from the Palestinian state. "Israel's intention to erase Palestinian's identity and culture cannot be forgiven," he mentioned during press conference after the OIC extraordinary summit, Jakarta, Monday (3/7/2016).
"Agression to Al-Aqsa mosque and other historical sites like churches cannot be forgiven," he added.
The Palestinian President invited President Jokowi to Jerusalem so he could witness directly Israel's atrocities in the region.
"We invite President Jokowi and international community to Palestine and Al-Quds Al-Sharif. All of you can witness the Israeli occupation," Abbas said
The OIC extraordinary summit produced two outcomes. First, resolution on Palestine and Al-Quds Al-Sharif which reiterates support and commitment from OIC countries to Palestine.
Second document is Jakarta Declaration comprising of concrete measures to support Palestine and pursue peace through two-state solution.
