South China Sea to be Discussed at ASEAN-US Summit

medcom.id, Jakarta: South China Sea issue will be discussed in ASEAN-United States (US) Summit next week. Indonesia will urge all related countries to exercise restrain in the region.
 
"Discussion on South China Sea is scheduled to ease recent tension," said the Foreign Ministry's dialogue partner and inter-regional cooperation director Derry Aman, Jakarta, Thursday (2/11/2016). 
 
Several ASEAN members like Vietnam, the Philippines, Brunei and Malaysia are claimant states in the area.
 
ASEAN-US Summit will be held in Sunnyland, California on February 15. President Joko Widodo has confirmed he will attend the meeting.
 
The summit will discuss wide rang of issues such as politics, economy, terrorism and maritime issues.
