Kalla Urges OIC Members Unite to Solve Palestinian Issue

medcom.id, Jakarta: Vice President Jusuf Kalla mentioned Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) members must unite to solve Palestine-Israel conflict. Kalla also underlined the importance of unity between Hamas and Fatah.
 
"The important point is how Hamas and Fatah could unite," said Kalla on the sidelines of OIC Extraordinary Summit, Jakarta, Monday (3/7/2016).
 
The 5th OIC Extraordinary Summit is specially held to discuss the issue of Palestine and Al-Quds Al-Sharif.
 
On the sidelines of the summit, Kalla held bilateral meeting with Azerbaijan, Turkey and Tunisia.
 
"We discuss bilateral cooperation, current situation in the Middle East, development of trade, people to people, cultural relations and so on," he stated.
 
"We have long relation with Tunisia. We have strong economic relations with Azerbaijan. We import oil from there. Moreover, we have good relations with Turkey in various sectors," he continued.
 
According to Kalla, Indonesia has strategic role to realize peace for Palestine. However, Indonesia still needs support from other countries like Turkey, Egypt, Iran and Qatar which have political role in the region.
 
Kalla also revealed that President Joko Widodo possibly will attend OIC Summit in Turkey next month.
