Indonesia-South Africa Agree Stronger Economic Cooperation

medcom.id, Jakarta: Indonesia and South Africa have agreed to tighten bilateral economic relations between the two countries.
 
Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi visited South Africa this week. She met with her South African counterpart Maite Nkoana Mashabane on Monday. She addressed various issues during the meeting.
 
"Indonesia and South Africa agreed to encourage businesspeople to make use of the many open opportunities in both countries," she said in a press release on Tuesday.

"The historical closeness between Indonesia and South Africa serves as a strong foundation for developing mutually beneficial economic cooperation," she stated.
 
Trade between South Africa and Indonesia reached USD860 million in January-October 2016. South African investment realization into Indonesia reached almost USD1 million in 2016.
 
Retno visited Egypt on February 5. She will visit Mozambique on February 8.
