Duterte Committed to Fight Abu Sayyaf

medcom.id, Jakarta: Philippine President Duterte reiterated his commitment to fight Abu Sayyaf militant group at the Filipino community Meeting in Jakarta on Friday, September 9, 2016.
 
"I will talk with President Joko Widodo about piracy in the southern Philippines," he said in his speech.
 
Nine Indonesian sailors are currently taken hostage by Abu Sayyaf in the southern Philippines. 

"I have to talk about this issue with President Joko Widodo. Moreover, several Indonesian sailors are taken hostage," he continued.
 
"We must catch them. We will kill them if necessary," he stated.
 
Duterte arrived in Jakarta last night. He flew to Indonesia after the ASEAN summits in Laos.
 
Piracy is serious problem in the Sulu-Sulawesi Seas. Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines recently agreed to increase security in the area.
