Najib Not Doing a Good Job as Leader: Mahathir

medcom.id, Bekasi: Former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad hit out at his current succesor Najib Rajak during his visit to Assyafiiyah Islamic University in Bekasi, West Java today (3/10). He said a leader must run its mandate well.
 
Najib currently facing financial scandal related to a state-owned strategic development company called 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).
 
"In Malaysia, we have a little bit problem. We have elected leader that is not doing his job well," said Mahathir in his speech, Bekasi, Thursday (3/10/2016).
 
Mahathir mentioned there is an effort to get rid Najib from the government. "It depends on the authority. Parties could appoint new leader," he added.
 
Regarding support from opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim, Mahathir said he welcomes the support from his long time political foe.
 
"I welcome his support but only for this issue, for the effort to replace current prime minister, but for other issues, we are different," he explained.
