medcom.id, Amman: Maha Abou Shushes has been officially inaugurated as the first Indonesia's honorary consul in Palestine. She mentioned that she will focus on economic cooperation.
 
To Metrotvnews.com, Sunday (3/14/2016), Shushes said she will try to enhance relationship between Palestinian and Indonesian people. This is exclusive interview of Metrotvnews.com with Maha Abou Shushes:
 
How is your feeling for being Indonesia's honorary consul to Palestine?
 
I feel it is significant role for me to be consul for Indonesia in Palestine.
 
What drive you to accept this position?
 
Because I feel that Indonesia is our friend all the time and all over the years. We should have better relationship with the people of Indonesia. We know it as politicians and we know it as politics. We have good relationship but it is not enough. I think we can do more for our two nations.
 
What can you do to enhance the relationship between Indonesia and Palestine?
 
I didn't do anything yet but i will start strengthening the economic relationship and also the social relationship with the Palestine. I'll invite businessmen from both sides to be partners. And also I'll invite Indonesian to visit Palestine and Palestinian to visit Indonesia as well.
 
In your opinion, what could be obstacle for relationship between Indonesia and Palestine?
 
I believe there will be no obstacle. Maybe the lack of information. That is the obstacle. So my task is to provide both sides with enough information.
 
You are a businesswoman, what do you think about the role of economy in enhancing the relationship between Indonesia and Palestine?
 
It has a great role acually. It would be my priority to enhance the economic relationship. And maybe with the God's help during next october we start our first delegation to Indonesia.
 
We talk about the current situation in Palestine, how is the situation today?
 
Of course we have politically hard situation but we are survivors as palestinians. We do business and we live. We try to invest and to have better life for us and for our children.
 
What do you think about settlement dispute between Palestine and Israel?
 
You know major role for me as businesswoman is to stay and to provide better jobs and lifes for my people and i think in my time everything would be solved.
 
How do you think about the OIC meeting in Jakarta?
 
I think it was great Indonesia hosted that summit. It concerned about Al-Sharif Al-Quds. And it reflects the interest of Indonesia with Palestine and its people. 
 
Do you think it will bring great influence for the Palestinians?
 
I hope so, yes. We need every support that we can have. We really need every support that we can have.
