medcom.id, Nusa Dua: The Sri Lankan government has invited President Joko Widodo to become a keynote speaker in an international Islamic conference in the country.
Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi conducted a meeting with her Sri Lankan counterpart Mangala Samaraweera in Nusa Dua, Bali on Wednesday (10/26).
"They invite President Joko Widodo to become a keynote speaker. Indonesia has experience in those two issues (Islam and democracy)," said Retno after the meeting.
"They also invite leaders from other Muslim countries," she continued.
Retno added the two governmets agreed to improve bilateral relations. They will increase interactions between the two countries.
Retno previously met with Samaraweera on the sidelines of the G7 Summit in Japan earlier this year.
