medcom.id, Jakarta: Vietnam's veteran diplomat Ambassador Nguyen Nguyet Nga shared her country's experience during Trans-pacific Partnership (TPP) negotiations.
Ambassador Nguyen explained preparations were very crucial during the negotiations.
"We had dozens of negotiators," she said at a public lecture initiated by the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jakarta on Wednesday (8/10/2016).
She explained Vietnam has started economic and legal reforms to comply with the trade agreement. The country also has prepared measures so its private sector can compete with other TPP countries.
According to her, the Vietnamese government believes TPP will give benefits to the country in the long term. Vietnam will enjoy larger market access and technology transfer.
"Indonesia should also join TPP. Indonesia can get many benefits from TPP," she stated.
