medcom.id, Jakarta: Vice President Jusuf Kalla believes the Philippine government can rescue 10 Indonesian sailors taken hostage by Philippine militants in the southern Philippines.

"The government is resolute in this issue," said Kalla at his office, Jakarta, Friday (8/5/2016).

Kalla explained the Indonesian government will do the same if there are foreigners taken hostage in Indonesia. The Indonesian government will feel responsible to rescue the foreigners.

"So, we request the Philippine government to rescue the hostages," he continued.

Seven Indonesian sailors were kidnapped by Abu Sayyaf militants in the southern Philippines on June 20. Few days later, three other Indonesian sailors were kidnapped in Lahad Datu, Malaysia.
