Metrotnews.com, Jakarta: Former president Bacharudin Jusuf Habibie today signed the book of condolences at the Embassy of Germany in Jakarta following the death of former Germany's chancellor Helmut Kohl.
"I and Kohl shared many memories together," Habibie said.
Kohl was dead at age 87 in Ludwigshafen on Friday. His death was announced by Christian Democratic Union Party.
Kohl was widely referred as the architect of Germany's reunification. He was also considered as the champion of Europe's unity.
"I want to travel to Germany to pay respect," Habibie said.
